The story behind it
From our own roof into the code.
This is where it all started: we moved in in 2024 and put 6 kWp on the roof, the first miner followed in 2025 – and in summer 2025 the first controller, which became the MINEOMATBOX. What our own system can’t reproduce – water-cooled miners, large fleets without a battery, flexible tariffs – the box learns from our customers.
The setup is deliberately mixed: a modern Avalon Q next to an old S9. That way we test not only the current generation but also how the box handles hardware that has been in service for many years. If it can handle the old generation, it won’t trip over the new one.
SolarEdge supplies the solar data – 6 kWp at the start, 10 since the conservatory roof was added in April 2026 – the 9.5 kWh battery is connected too, and the HOME box controls the rest. All of it in the garage – real weather, a real household, real electricity from the roof.
Energy flow under ideal conditions
Six kilowatts from the roof. Three of them into the miners.
6.1 kW of solar: 3.0 kW into two miners, 2.3 kW into the battery, 0.7 kW into the house. Only 0.1 kW goes into the grid. Self-consumption rate: 98%.

This system runs on the MINEOMATBOX HOME.
Controls up to eight miners based on your solar surplus – with battery strategy, price thresholds and weather forecast. It runs locally in your home on Home Assistant, with no cloud and no subscription. If, contrary to expectations, the connection to your inverter doesn’t work, you can send it back.
