Eight miners, one box

In Niederösterreich there is a system that shows how different mining hardware can be: two current-class Antminer S19k Pro, four small Bitaxe and two S9 that already have many years under their belt. Eight miners in total – the maximum a MINEOMATBOX HOME controls. The power comes from 15 kWp on the roof, with a Sigenergy inverter and an 18 kWh battery connected.

The box treats each class differently. The two S19k Pro are the workhorses: they follow the solar signal and ramp up when there is enough surplus – and back down when the sun has gone or the spot price is too high. The four Bitaxe run continuously as solo-mining lottery tickets: small devices, low consumption, every round a chance at the whole block. The operator decides what happens with which device – the box puts it into practice.

What stands out is the soundproofed cabinet: the S19k Pro are loud, so they sit behind acoustic foam. And the two S9 show what many people underestimate – even old hardware doesn’t have to be scrapped. As long as it runs at the right moment, it still turns surplus solar power into Bitcoin. New next to old, big next to small, all on one box.
